Yoga Elements Studio, Bangkok welcomes Yoga master Matej Jurenka

Matej Jurenka was born in Bratislava, Slovakia, in Eastern Europe. His first real contact with Yoga came at the age of 20, with the discovery of a book called ”Light on Yoga” written by B.K.S. Iyengar. Since then, he has been practicing Yoga regularly and  withmuch dedication, incorpo -rating Yogic and Tantric techniques into his own daily sadhana routineMatej got his teaching certificate from a Yoga school called Yoga India in Mysore, which is directed by a Yoga master Bharath Shetty. Mysore is one of the richest cities in India concerning Yoga traditions. Bharat’s school is a very reputable Yoga school registered with Yoga Alliance, which is an organization that registers Yoga schools and Yoga teachers from all over the world.  Besides Iyengar, his main influence is Bihar school of Yoga.  Matej’s website is

Saturday 31 January: “Bending Over Backwards
 
 
Session One:  10.30am – 12.30pm: Backbending Asanas Using Breath & Vinyasa Techniques
Focusing on back bending asanas using breath and vinyasa techniques. Guided step-by-step instructions and demonstration.                                                                                   
• Using different yogic and tantric techniques including mudras, pranayama and kriya.                          
• Exploring each pose in depth and discussing modifications for a gentler practice asana by asana.

Session Two: 2.30pm – 4.30pm: Advanced Backbending Asanas
• Moving into more advanced postures                                                             
• Using different yogic and tantric techniques including mudras, pranayama and kriya.                                 
• Focusing on the dynamics and unity of vinyasa and backbending.

Sunday 1 February: “Up Side Down and All Around

Session One:  10.30am – 12.30pm: Inversions & Variations Using Breath, Vinyasa Techniques• Reviewing the asanas from the first day and then continuing with the study of some of the more challenging inversion asanas.• Focusing on inversion asanas using breath and vinyasa techniques. Guided step-by-step instructions and demonstration.• Exploring each inversion in depth with modified version for beginners.Session Two: 2.30pm– 4.30pm:
Rotations Using Breath and Vinyasa Techniques• Focusing on rotations of the shoulders, hips and ankles using breath and vinyasa techniques.
Guided step-by-step instructions and demonstration.
• Invigorating the systems using different advanced pranayama techniques. Focusing on the dynamics and unity of vinyasa and rotations.
