YOQI (pronounced yo chee) is all about energy. Qi is the Chinese word for life force energy. Every one of us is a living matrix of life force energy. The question we ask is how is your energy moving? Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, the YOQI YIN 5 Element Routine is designed to move your qi towards vibrant health, internal harmony, and effortless power. In this routine we will embody the five elemental phases of nature following a Yin to Yan energetic flow: beginning with long held meditative floor postures then moving up to a standing dynamic qigong flow sequence.
YIN YOGA + QIGONG: Yin Yoga is a self-healing and meditative form of yoga that targets the connective tissues and energy meridians of the body. A yin yoga pose is typically held for five minutes; enough time to release stagnation within the fascia, refine subtleties of the breath and quiet the mind. Qigong is the ancient Chinese yoga of energy cultivation, the original Yin Yoga. Qigong flows are repetitive and mindful and are a wonderful way to enhance the benefits of a yoga practice.
