Ashtanga yoga is a traditional practice originating from Mysore India. It is the original system of Yoga from which many of the current modern dynamic yoga styles were developed.
This is a continuation from our last workshop in June where we introduced Ashtanga Yoga and the primary series over 3 weekends, but it is open to anyone with some knowledge of the primary series and who has a regular vinyasa yoga practice.
Over 5 Saturday mornings, we will soak our yoga toes deeper into the world of Ashtanga and continue to explore the primary series postures in more detail as we work our way through the series in a semi led format. We will revisit the key principles of the system and fine tune our asana practice. Towards the end of each session, time will be allocated for open discussion where participants can ask questions on areas of practice and theory that may be of interest to them. In the final session, an overview and short introduction will be given of the intermediate series to highlight how the series are intelligently connected and related.
These classes will be taught in a small group. The same students each week means personal attention and guidance.
